The replacement of the worn out sod of the Municipal Stadium of Peristeri, the base field of Atromitos football team, was completed successfully within just 4 days! The old sod extraction works started on Monday morning, 2/10/2009, with the use of the specialized FAST FIELD machinery. The next day the flattening of the field took place with the use of LASER technology equipment, in order to achieve the right inclinations in the field. The next couple of days new sod was placed, of the famous Olympico cultivation, using the BIG SLABS method (sod rolls of 1m. width X 50 m. long).
 
That method allows for the minimum of joints in the field (around 160). The field was delivered in perfect condition Thursday afternoon 6/10/2009. This way a field is ready for use within 10 (!) days only by the Hellasod method. Meaning that if a football team needs to replace its sod field, no changes what so ever in its playing schedule are needed.
